We have put together some information that you may find useful. If you have any questions,. please send us an email and we will be happy to try and help you.

Adult ratio cover in our Pack.

A Brownie Unit can take children aged between 7 and 10. Due to some new additions, our Unit is currently full and we are running a Waiting list.
To be added to the list, please contact us through the enquiry link.

HELP.......
Due to a shortage of adults and an influx of children, we are running a parent’s rota to ensure we have enough adults present for the activities. this enables us to have a more varied program of activities.

To add your name to the rota, please look at the programme link and find a free evening and email me through the contact link. If each child has someone on the rota - you should only be needed about once a term and it will enable us to keep the Unit running!

New Brownies.

When a child joins our pack, they are assigned a buddy to look after them until they make their promise. Usually on their first evening, new Brownies receive a booklet called “Becoming a Brownie” which is a fun activity book introducing them to Brownies and containing the Brownie Story. They work through this during the meetings and at home. This book helps to prepare them for making their Promise.

Records and Forms.

Our records and permissions need to be kept up to date for insurance and legal purposes. It is also vital that we have up- to- date records of any medical conditions and contact details in case of an emergency.

Badges and Books.

There are many Interest Badges that Brownies can achieve and we try to complete at least one each term as a pack. The girls can also work for some of the badges at school or clubs, they can have their teacher/instructor test them and complete a form for Brown Owl. Badges can be kept inside a Promise Box, sewn onto a Brownie Sash, Gilet, hoody or sewn onto a camp blanket. We give the Brownies a Promise Box. The Badge Book and Brownie Adventure books are very useful but we have decided not to supply them in order to keep subs as low as possible. These can be purchased from our local Guide Shop. Please speak to a Guider for more details.

Church Parade.

Although we are a multi- faith organisation and welcome members of all faiths and celebrate festivals from all over the world while learning about different cultures we are affiliated with Bethesda Church Church. We go there for a Church Parade service once a term which is a family services and the girls can get involved by doing a reading, helping with the collection or carrying/escorting our flag.

District Events.

We like to attend at least one district event each year as this gives the girls a chance to meet up with girls from other Rainbow, Brownie and Guide Packs from the area, it is particularly good for the older Brownies to see old Brownie friends who have already gone up to guides and to meet their Guider to discuss moving on themselves.

Trips and Holidays.

We try to have an outing each year, whether it is the cinema and Frankie and Benny's, Cattle Country, swimming, Cadbury World, a Sleepover or a Pack Holiday, we always have a lot of fun.
